Hi! My name is Debbie. I grew up in on a
small farm with my two sisters about 75 miles from the Canadian boarder in
Hibbing MN. I've always have had a great fondness of almost any kind of
animal. At the age of 16 I started working on a horse farm training trail
horses. I loved the challenge and still do. Since then I have raised
Long Horns and other exotic animals and birds.
My great love for cockers came about when my daughter purchased and brought one
home. Well you know, Mom gets to care for the new puppy, which was fine
with me since I fell in love with her the minute I saw her. Sadly when my
daughter moved away, the puppy went with her.
Heartbroken along with a little of the "Empty Nest Syndrome", I
scanned the papers and found an ad for a cocker puppy for sale. After
Shadow, I rescued another young dog that was heading to the pound. The
rest is all history.
After meeting my husband, we re-located to Peoria, Illinois. I work along
side my husband installing floor coverings at his business.
Like most people just starting out, I've had my run in with back yard
breeders. A hard and expensive lesson to learn, but I've since then met
some very helpful breeders that have given me an enormous amount of information
regarding raising and showing cockers. With their guidance I started
showing cockers in 2003. My first home bred champion finished in 2005.
As you cruise through the site, visit the show hopefuls page for my next
generation of upcoming champions.
I'd like the give a special thank you to John and Glenda Swank for entrusting me
with their young specials dog Ch. Swank's Little Black Sambo. It is such a
rare opportunity for any new person in the show ring to be given such a special
young dog. Thank You John and Glenda!
